TIHE 2010 in Uzbekistan: Tashkent International Healthcare Exhibition

The 15th Tashkent International Healthcare Exhibition TIHE 2010 will gather professionals all around the world on April, 14-17, 2010 at Uzexpocentre in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan Healthcare Industry

Uzbekistan's population totals 27,6 million inhabitants, and it is the most populous country in Central Asia.

The territory of Uzbekistan has 447 thousand square. km. It shares borders with the states: Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan.

In Uzbekistan there are more than 8,350 health care institutions, including 3,825 hospitals, 3,825 medical and outpatient facilities, 3,479 rural medical and patient organizations. In 2006 in the region there were 4,000 private medical institutions.

Uzbekistan has registered more than 4,500 pharmaceuticals. Of these, more than 2,000 products are produced by foreign pharmaceutical firms, 1,300 drug manufacturers from CIS countries, 250 names of substances and means for diagnosis, 500 kinds of medicines are manufactured in Uzbekistan. On the territory of the region there are 92 enterprises which produce pharmaceuticals and medical products.

The largest suppliers of pharmaceutical products to the Uzbekistan market are Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, France and the United States.

TIHE Profile

The annual exhibition TIHE is founded in 1995. Among TIHE 2009 participants there were 110 companies and 60 co-exhibitors, with the number of visitors of 6,170 persons.

The previous event has been attended by companies from 21 countries, including those from Austria, Britain, Germany, India, Russia, United States, Japan and Ukraine.
