President Palace Hotel Samarkand, Uzbekistan
One of the largest hotels in Samarkand, Domina President Hotel was built by Germans in early 90s immediately after collapse of USSR when Uzbekistan declared its independence. The hotel is very impressive from the outside, looks very modern with glass lifts going up inside the building that is built around vast square shapeatrium.The lobby and atrium are quite spacious and nice.
This hotel would probably suit best for a business traveler since it is just a large business style hotel with a lack of atmosphere.Even still, it's probably the best place to stay in Samarkand, but don't expect too much.
This hotel is located in heart of Samarkand, near the Tamerlane statue and not very far from The Opera House and Registan. The location is central for Samarkand, but there are not so many attractions around apart from historical sites.

Inside the hotel looks like a cruise ship with the rooms located in the semicircle until 7th floor.There are 166 rooms in total at this hotel. The rooms are simple, small, stuffy and without air conditioning, with satellite TV& mini bar. Rooms are clean and the beds quite comfortable.

Staffis polite and friendly.The breakfast isfine;the food is buffet style, nothing exquisite, not much variety.There are two restaurants and bars that can accommodate up to 240 persons.
