Located between the Chor Minor and Lyabi Hovuz historical sites, the Mekhtar Ambar Hotel offers a unique athmosphere in the restored 19th century Caravan Saray (the stopover place for caravans), with the first floor being previously used as a stable to keep camels and horses and with the second floor designated to people traveling along the ancient cities of Uzbekistan.
The hotel is on the Nakshbandi Street within 5 minute walk from Lyabi-Hovuz. This former Caravan Saray was constructed in the 19th century but has converted to a hotel. This is the only hotel of this kind in Bukhara, which is actually is based in the ancient building. The hotel has 11 rooms in total: 2 triple, 6 double and 3 single rooms. All rooms of the hotel are individually decorated in traditional Bukhara design and has comfortable furniture made by local craftsmen. Every room differs from another with its color and design. The ornamental decoration, “suzane” - a decorative-artistic needlework embroidered with silk threads on hand-made fabric - hanging out on the walls. The rooms have all-modern facilities and you will find yourself in a unique, beautiful and cozy room with Satellite TV and good air-conditioning.
