Presentation of touristic potential of Uzbekistan in Washington, DC
The presentation on theme touristic potential of Uzbekistan, organized by the embassy of the country with the assistance of the company «International Club DC» held in Washington, DC. It was attended by representatives of the U.S. travel agencies, public, academic, scientific and business communities, as well as the media.
In the multimedia presentation, guests were provided a wealth of information about tourism, cultural and historical centers of Uzbekistan, and their sights. The audience was acquainted with the modern development of the tourism industry of the republic, achievements and areas of industry, travel packages offered by leading companies. Specific reference was made successes of socio-economic development since independence.
The presentation included a performance of choreographic Ensemble «Silk Road Dance Company», submitted the Uzbek national dances that reveal the unique flavor of culture and traditions. Guests could to see the gallery of creative works of Uzbek craftsmen, features of the Uzbek national cuisine. Among the participants were distributed promotional materials, publications and brochures on the touristic potential of Uzbekistan.
The presentation aroused interest among the participants. The head of «International Club DC» C. Hettiheva noted with satisfaction the steady development of US-Uzbek relations, which help to increase the flow of tourists from the United States to Uzbekistan. He expressed confidence that such events will help to promote tourism potential of the republic in the United States.
Manager of the company «Microsoft» D. Balafutis appreciated the contribution of the Government of Uzbekistan to the preservation and restoration of cultural monuments in the country, which he said were part of world civilization. He noted that respect for the history, the measures taken to preserve the traditions and culture show high level of spiritual potential of our people.
