Recently at the exhibition center of Colmar France, third in size and population of Elzase, the administrative center of Upper Rein department, passed in France the 27th International Tourist Exhibition entitled "International Exhibition of Tourism and Travel."

The exhibition was attended by representatives of various national touristic administrations, hotels, tour operators from more than 50 countries have submitted three days of its more than 400 exhibitors. This exhibition is also considered one of the largest in France along with such well-known as «Top Resa» and «Mondial du Tourisme».

Held in the picturesque Elzassian town, which holds a rich cultural and historical heritage of France and is home of famous sculptor Frederic Ouguste Bartoldi, the author of world famous Statue of Liberty, participated in this exhibition, including representatives of our country.

Stand of Uzbekistan, brightly decorated in traditional style and ornate traditional Uzbek fabrics, Suzane, works of applied arts of ceramics, wood, metal, was presented with a French travel company «Formitours».

Thematic conferences on the tourist potential of Uzbekistan were held during the exhibition, historical and architectural monuments of Uzbekistan offered foreign tourists traditional and diversified tourist attractions, peculiarities of Uzbek national cuisine, has attracted considerable attention of visitors.

The special interest of visitors caused a thematic meeting "Uzbekistan - the crossroad of the Great Silk Road", presented by a diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in France. It was noted that since independence in our country, paid a great attention to the development of tourism, formed new areas of tourism, built new hotels, renovated and landscaped ancient historical monuments and sacred places of worship. The convenient geographical location of Uzbekistan, a variety of unique natural features, rich cultural and historical heritage, modern transport and communications infrastructure contribute to the promotion of the tourism industry, which still has great potential for further development.

A documentary titled "Treasures of Uzbekistan» filmed by teledocumentalists of French public TV channel «France 3" were shown to participants of the conference.

Expert of travel company «Les Voyages Lesage» Remy Schmidt and French writer-traveler, Alice Plan, author of "East orphanage. One on the roads of Central Asia "in their speeches highlighted the rich spiritual heritage, cultural diversity and hospitality of Uzbek people, the atmosphere of tolerance, interfaith and interethnic harmony, peace and stability prevailing in Uzbekistan, which in their opinion, attracts thousands of tourists from all around the world.
