In the mid-19th century, young bey and successful merchant named Urganсhi built for him and his large extended family residence on the territory of the old town Bukhara. Upon completion of construction Urganchibek arranged ceremony, attended by the Emir of Bukhara Ahad Khan. The emir expressed his admiration for the original architecture and the elegance of ganch and wood, and asked, "What are you going to do here?" - Hinting that house such greatness deserves to be the residence of the Emir. Seeing a subtle hint of his master, back replied: "O my lord, this house I want to give you!". Satisfied with this answer Ahad - khan took off his royal robe, and put it on the shoulders of his faithful filed, along with armor and jewels, as a sign of high distinction. And declared that henceforth and forever, this house will be called "Havli - Poyon": the literal translation-house at the bottom with respect to the Arch - winter residence of the emirs.
