Uzbekistan - a country with a colorful history and tradition

The 17th Tashkent International Tourist Fair "Tourism on the Silk Road-201," which opened in our capital city on November 2, 2011 brought together representatives of different areas of tourism, international experts gathered in this field, including representatives of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Some of the participants described their experiences after Fair.

Javier Blanco, director of the countries - members of the UNWTO:

- Uzbekistan is by far one of the leading countries in the development of world tourism and in particular the promotion of the brand "Silk Road". Everything is explained advantageous geographical position, which is located in the heart of the Central Asian region, a stable domestic economic and political situation, the availability of the necessary national resources and capabilities, as well as the dynamic development of the tourism industry of the country.

The World Tourism Organization appreciates Uzbekistan's role in fostering international partnerships for the development of tourism infrastructure on the Great Silk Road. Workers in tourism sphere are making a lot of work on the study and the wide dissemination of the rich spiritual and cultural heritage, restoration and preservation of ancient monuments and architectural complexes, expanding the range of tourism products and services in the country. A selection of your country in the framework of the 19th Session of the UNWTO Executive Board members of the organization in 2011 - 2015 in the South Korean city of Gyeongju proved once again that the effectiveness of implemented in the Republic of comprehensive measures for the development of the tourism industry is recognized globally.

Bussakhon Piuvk-Liang, secretary of the Tourism Authority of Thailand:

- I came to this fair for the second time. The current travel forum favorably with the previous one, with despite the fact that last year I was also impressed by the event. It brought together representatives of tourist business in many countries. Fair hits the scale, rigorous curriculum and colors. I have been assured that Uzbekistan - a bright country rich in history, culture, customs and traditions, as well as extraordinary cuisine. It is simply impossible not to love your welcoming people do not appreciate the local attractions that are striking in their grandeur and architecture.

Thailand, of course, also part of Eastern culture, but your country - it's a slightly different embodiment of the Eastern world. I also want to note that today Uzbekistan for us - one of the priority partners in the tourism business. By the number of visits to our country of Uzbekistan is one of the leading places, and in the year the flow of tourists here reaches 20-30 thousand people. I have no doubt that the public last year in Tashkent Consulate of Thailand will further strengthen ties between our countries and in the tourist area.

Bui Dai, head of the operator of the company «Focus Travel» (Vietnam):

- Tourism is one area that helps to quickly establish a connection between the states and to the dynamics of the economy. We are working in tourist market of our country a few years. Take tourists from all over the world. The good news is that every year an increasing number of visitors to our country and from Uzbekistan. We know that your country has a high tourism potential.

Speaking about this event, I would also like to point out that it has been prepared in a professional manner. Each country represented here, foreign tour operators and companies paid much attention, given the opportunity to demonstrate their accumulated experience and potential.

Nadejda Snigir, sales manager of the hotel «Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai» (Malaysia):

- I work in a Malaysian hotel, situated in an exotic location on the island of Borneo. On duty, often talk with tourists who stay in our hotel. Among them, of course, there are Uzbeks, whom we love and respect. I must say that this is not just nice words.

To date, some of the most welcome guests for the staff and management of the hotel are Uzbek tourists. It is easy to work with them, they are agreeable, treated everyone with understanding. This is one of the reasons for our participation in this event, which will help us to establish new contacts, attract new customers and to exchange experiences in this important matter.
