Relationship of Culture of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan

Сonference on "Linkages cultures of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan" was held in Tashkent at Azerbaijan Cultural Center of the Heydar Aliev. The conference was organized by Uzbekistan Art Academy, Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan with the support of the Azerbaijan Embassy in Uzbekistan. Number of professors and students of higher educational institutions of Tashkent, prominent scientists and cultural workers of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as media representatives were at the conference.

Taking into account that in 2011 marks 870 years since the birth of the great Azerbaijan poet Nizami, conference began the ceremony of laying a wreath at the monument of Nizami in Tashkent. Then assembled acquainted with expositions of operating in the territory of the Cultural Center of the three museums - the Museum of Heydar Aliev of Azerbaijan, Statehood History Museum, the Museum of common history of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Photos and materials in the Museum of Heydar Aliev, reflecting the life and work of one of the greatest politicians of the twentieth century aroused particular interest of visitors.

The conference was held in accordance with the Agreement on Cooperation between the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and the Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, signed September 27, 2010 during the visit of President Ilham Aliev to Uzbekistan.

Prominent scientists of the Institute of Architecture and Arts of Azerbaijan were attended at the conference. In particular, the Doctor of Arts R. Abdullayev gave a presentation on "The relationship of visual culture of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan," Doctor of Arts, Professor E. Salamzade reported "sacred bird Simurgh and Humo", Dr. R. Amenzade Architecture gave a presentation entitled "From architectural history of the relationship between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan."

Scientists from the National Institute of Arts and Design Kamoliddin Bekhzod, Institute of Art, the State Conservatory, Gallery of Fine Art, Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Institute of History represented the science of Uzbekistan at the conference. Presentations on the similarities and common roots of the symbolism of the links classical music traditions have expanded knowledge of participants about the history of cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbek people. The conference ended with a demonstration of the Azerbaijan and Uzbek dances performed by students of the Tashkent College of Choreography.
