The French institute in Uzbekistan has opened in capital in 2002. It was called as the French cultural centre of Victor Hugo. The aim of the French institute in Uzbekistan - training of all interested persons to the French language, the organization of interesting cultural actions and exhibitions, distribution of the information on education and work in this country.
Here six fine audiences, the big media library and a spacious showroom. Every year more than 1000 persons are trained here. Employment on courses passes under the flexible and convenient schedule for all. The listeners, who have shown good knowledge at examinations, pay for training at the next level twice less.
But, probably, the French institute could not work so effectively and fruitfully if it was not helped by Embassy of France in Uzbekistan. It concerns not only language studying, but also the organization of meetings with art workers and arts of France, numerous exhibitions and film festivals.
