The richest historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan - diverse national cuisine, hospitality and goodwill of people - attracts foreign tourists, including those from Germany.
The number of travel companies in Germany offering tours to Uzbekistan grows from year to year. Today their number reaches about 80. Many of them included diverse cross-cultural and tourist information about our country in their guidebooks for 2011.

The German catalogs emphasized that over 4 thousand monuments of architecture and art of different epochs and civilizations many of which listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List are situated in the republic. It is also noted that many of the monuments have been restored in the last years. All-round conditions for revival and development of traditional arts and national creativity have been created that always attract foreign tourists. Not by chance, some Uzbek cities are called “pearls” of the East.
Due to the modern tourist industry in the country the interest in the historical heritage of the Uzbek people and the modern life of our country grows worldwide with each year. And, tourism as one of the high-yielding and rapidly growing sectors of the world economy plays an increasingly important role in strengthening economic, cultural and political ties between the countries.
Today, the republic has demonstrated the world that has become not only recognized industrial and financial, but developed tourist destination in the region – that was the main theme of the German travel guidebooks on Uzbekistan.
