Expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea
Yesterday in the capital's International Business Centre a business seminar hosted in business circles of Uzbekistan and South Korea.
The event, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and South Korea Importers Association, was devoted to the further development of bilateral economic and investment cooperation.
Uzbekistan has established 359 joint ventures with South Korean-based partners. Representation in our country has opened 84 companies of the Republic of Korea. They operate in areas such as engineering, commerce, chemistry, food and light industry, metal processing, pharmaceuticals, tourism, services.
At the event, representatives of business circles of both countries exchanged views on further development of cooperation in the business space of Uzbekistan and South Korea.
It was attended by leaders of many South Korean firms and companies, such as the "Hanshin International", "Irvine Business Group", "True Trading", "Shiba Korea", "Blue Bird", "World Juice", "Life and Line" , "ICT". This demonstrates the great interest in deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan.
- The system of our association, organized in 1970, has over nine thousand companies - said the chairman of South Korea Importers Association Lee Tae Ju. - We import products and services. The main purpose of our visit to Uzbekistan is to establish the import of South Korea products companies operating in the engineering and light industry, construction, and food. Mutually beneficial relationships are strengthened between our two countries, the trade and economic cooperation are dynamically developing.
At the end of a business seminar matchmaking was held with representatives from a number of companies and enterprises of Uzbekistan and the business community in South Korea. Participants discussed development of relations and implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
