Second life of Chorsu Hotel in Tashkent

The Uzbek government has decided to accelerate the project to create a modern hotel complex on the basis of the former Hotel Chorsu in Tashkent city (former Moscow hotel) which was one of the best hotels of Uzbekistan and well known as Moscow hotel.

On July 7, The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has published a resolution "On ways of project completion on creation of a modern hotel complex on the basis of the former Hotel Chorsu.

According to the document, the South Korean Daegeon Global Co. Ltd, who purchased Hotel Chorsu in Tashkent, in September 2007, should complete reconstruction and construction works of a new hotel complex by September 1, 2012.

Hotel complex "Chorsu" was realized by Daegeon Global for $ 7 million. Also the Korean company has accepted additional investment commitments of $18 million. To realize the project foreign enterprise Daegeon Global coherent Ltd was established. 

The government has allowed the reconstruction and construction of the hotel complex created on the working drawings with a parallel design and approval of design estimates, up to 1 January 2011.

In autumn 2002 Uzbek tourism, and Turkish company "Emsash" agreed to establish a joint venture Chorsu Hotel with stock amount of  10 million dollars for the reconstruction of the hotel
(with shares of 30% and 70% ) . However, this project was not completed. In spring 2005, the Government acknowledged its ruling on the reconstruction of  inoperative "Chorsu".

23-staged "Chor-Su" hotel was built in the eponymous square in Tashkent in 1982. Original name was "Moscow" hotel. The building architect was Spivak, chief designer was A. Asanov.
