Great Future of the Small Hotels in Uzbekistan/Tashkent

Guesthouses are the most growing part of the tourism segment in Uzbekistan.

In the global hospitality industry small- hotels are not only long and firmly occupy the tourism market, but also became an important element of the whole hotel business. According to experts, the share of small hotels is not less than 40% of the total world market of accommodation services. Under the conditions of independent development of our country, expansion of tourism, first appearance of guest houses, then private small- hotels
and tourist hotels showed the high capability of small-hotel business.

Oaks may fall when reeds stand the storm.

The steady growth of tourist in flow of Uzbekistan during the last  dozen years, especially in spring and autumn time, which is at the height of tourist
season, have raised the increase of number of hotel rooms in small-hotels.

Strictly speaking, the recently build small-hotels are increasing the number of rooms. Today, the appearing of small hotels for 50 or more persons are more the rule than the exception. Moreover, the relatively small investments required to build a small hotel. High occupancy and low costs of such business have made this segment of the commercial real estate quite attractive for the private investors.

According to the National Company Uzbektourism currently in our country there are more than 240 hotels and other small accommodation facilities,
more than 70% of them are small-hotels and guest houses.

The hotel as a continuation of tours.

Small hotels, designed for a small number of guests which are first appeared as an alternative to conventional hotels, today are actively competing with their bigger competitirs. Their convenient location, usually in inner cities, as well as the cost, which sometimes is much lower than in the larger hotels with comparable quality of service are the advantages of such small hotels. The management of small hotels are more flexible in pricing policies. And it concerns not only the tour operators, providing the hotel on a regular boot, but also the guests, booking the hotels by themselves.

But the main features and perhaps the main advantages of small- hotels, especially those which are located in the historical cities of Uzbekistan are their national design and architecture, giving tourists, business people and other travelers the opportunity  to get acquainted with the customs of local people and feel the wideness of Uzbek hospitality.

- In some cases, especially in hotels, positioned as a Caravan-Serai, and Yurts, the staying of tourists is not limited with the simple set of standard hotel services, -  says Ms. Farida Boyko, Expert-auditor for certification of tourist and hotel services. According to her, besides the comfortable living and good-meal, which is mostly including the local dishes, tourists are offered by the rich cultural program such as , folk performances, some times lectures and meetings with the interesting people.

In short, the small- hotels are not just a way of accommodation, but they are an important part of the national tourism, where the main motive reason of choosing of Uzbekistan by foreign tourists are the unique cultural heritage of the country, wide range of arts and traditional crafts, folklore, national cuisine, and many other things.
