"Uzbekistan Airways" and “World Tourism Organization” (WTO) discussed the incorporation of Uzbek Airline as the official airline of WTO
The event was organized by the NAC "Uzbekistan Airways" with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Madrid.
The presentation was attended by over 60 heads of the largest travel companies from Spanish side, media representatives of Spain, as well as the World Tourism Organization (WTO).
Executive Director of the WTO Mr. Samogyi highlighted the initiatives of the opening of the flight, linking Spain and Uzbekistan, which is fully supported by the Organization. He stressed that "this event coincides with a new active WTO's activities in support of the Great Silk Road, with great potential."
President of "Uzbektourism” Mr. Mirzayev informed the participants about the tourist potential of Uzbekistan, its rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as ample opportunities to provide specialized tourism (environmental, sports, etc.).
The participants were also informed about the services and technical capabilities of the Uzbek Airlines, enabling it to meet the requirements of all international standards and the end of 2010 to join the alliance «SkyTeam».
During the presentation, tour operators which participated during the presentation were given special vouchers, providing a special rate up to 1 September 2010, for tourist groups of over 10 people visiting Uzbekistan.
