In columns of the Belgian weekly newspaper «New Europe» was published an article "Tashkent and Riga are discussing economic cooperation and security issues" which was devoted on the visit of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Mr. Ivis Ronis in Uzbekistan.
The article notes that during the meeting leaders of Foreign Ministers of Latvia along with the Minister of Defense and Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan has discussed trade and economic cooperation, investment opportunities between the two countries, the program of educational exchange and cooperation in tourism, increasing dialogue between EU and Central Asia as well as on the stability in the region, including the situation in Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.
According to the publication, Mr. Ivis Ronis noted that Uzbekistan is an important partner for Latvia and EU in Central Asia.
