Singaporean businessmen have business interests in Uzbekistan
Recently at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Singapore have gathered some members of the Uzbek-Singapore business forum to continue discussing the range of issues raised at the last meeting in Tashkent.
Deputy Director for Europe and the CIS of Singapore Business Federation Mrs. Renee Koch pointed to the high business activity of Uzbek businessmen, and noted that her colleagues are waiting for their arrival in Singapore to continue the discussion of specific ways to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
According to the Committee for Foreign Trade of Singapore Mrs. Julie Chu, delegation’s visit to our country was enriched with negotiations, which resulted in signing of several bilateral documents.
Many members of the delegation were pleasantly surprised by the high level of economic development of Uzbekistan, according to the words of head of the delegation Mr. Hong Sang. As an expert in the field of transport and logistics, he believes that "the newly established free industrial zone in Navoi city has a great future and certainly will play a big role in improving the investment image of the country. Uzbek government measures taken to improve the infrastructure and transport links will greatly increase trade flows through the republic in the near future."
It should be noted that trade and investment cooperation between the two countries grow stronger with each passing year. Bilateral trade in recent years demonstrates the positive trend, despite the global financial crisis, bilateral trade following last year totaled about 100 million U.S. dollars.
