Revival of Great Silk Road
Japanese media widely announcing an opening “Tokyo Investment Conference” on April 22, 2010, in which representative government delegation of Uzbekistan will participate.

The leading news agency Kyodo Tsushin spread the message: "During the conference, a presentation of the economic and industrial potential of Uzbekistan, opportunities of free industrial zone in "Navoi will take a place". During the conference the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade and Minister of Economy will make their speeches.

In the framework of the conference four thematic round tables will be held on the automotive, electrical, textile & light and tourism industries. Summarizing the results it is planned to sign documents on the establishment of new industrial facilities in FIEZ "Navoi" city. It is expected that about 300 Japanese companies will participate in the conference.

"Uzbekistan is known worldwide for its ancient capital of Samarkand, and world cultural heritage on the Silk Road, and formed in Navoi region free industrial zone” – Newspaper Nikkei is writing in connection with the forthcoming visit of the Uzbek delegation.- FIEZ total area of 564 hectares and with the presence of a major international airport will become a center of industry and industrial exports, not only to the markets of former Soviet republics with a population of 300 million people, but also to the states of Europe, the Middle East, India and China."

"Favorable investment climate created in the free zone, with significant tax benefits and preferences has already attracted major companies from South Korea, China and Italy. All this leads to the idea of a new era of economic exchange on the revival of the Great Silk Road "- writes the newspaper "Nikkei".
