A fascinating journey through the lost civilizations

The President of Uzbekistan repeatedly asserted that history is the basis of nation’s spirituality. In the early years after independence, the President has set a mission to academic historians to make a true scientific history of our state and nation. One of those who first responded to this appeal is an academician Mr. Edward Rtveladze. He belongs to one of the few scholars who understands the importance of modern scientific knowledge about the past of Central Asian people. The second edition of his book called "The historical past of Uzbekistan" can be a proof.
The monograph is devoted to the history of the country, beginning with the Stone Age to the middle of the XIX century. Simple terms of the story is told by the campaigns of Great Alexander, illuminated medieval ownership and the state, the Mongol conquests and their historical implications, the formation of the State of Amir Temur and history of his dynasty.
Fundamentals of Uzbek statehood were laid more than three thousand years ago. In this sense, the history of Uzbekistan is next to the history of these ancient states like Egypt and China, India and Greece. Our land by virtue of geographical location has played a vital role in the accumulation and transfer of scientific, cultural, legal, educational and religious knowledge between East and West. These facts in an accessible form provided in this book.
