Cultural evening of Uzbekistan in the U.S.
Recently at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington within a framework of "Navruz" celebration in conjunction with the company «International Club of DC» held a cultural evening dedicated to the historical-cultural potential of Uzbekistan, modern life of our republic, the traditional values of the Uzbek people, its ancient art and culture. Particular emphasis was placed on the existing rich tourist potential of Uzbekistan.
The event aroused great interest among the general American public.
Party guests were thoroughly informed about the socio-economic achievements of the republic, held democratic reforms undertaken reforms in various areas of socio-political life of Uzbekistan.
Participants in the evening had the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about the historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, the main directions of domestic and foreign policy. With great attention to the American guests watched the documentary on "Navruz" in Uzbekistan, the ancient cities of our country. Of particular interest to them has caused ethnographic gallery of the Embassy, where are unique examples of the work of Uzbek masters of applied art. An indelible impression on those present and made a brilliant collection of art paintings Uzbek masters of the brush.
The participants warmly welcomed the speech of creative team «Central Asia Dance Company», headed by an honorary professor at the Tashkent State Institute of Arts. Mrs. Uygur Laurel Victoria Gray, in pursuance of which were presented to the Uzbek national dances and music.
In the unanimous opinion of participants of the event, the holding of such cultural evenings help to attract the attention of the general American public to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Uzbek people and increase the flow of American tourists wishing to visit the ancient cities of Uzbekistan such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent.
