Qatar’s Mass Media focusing on Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage
The article “Arabic Manuscripts Worldwide” is published in the daily Qatar’s newspaper “Al Vatan”, telling about scientific and literary manuscripts of the institute of oriental studies under the academy of sciences of the republic of Uzbekistan. The article emphasizes that the institute of oriental studies named after Abu Rayhan Beruniy under the academy of sciences of the republic of Uzbekistan is admitted as one of the most known scientific institutions of the world, which guards invaluable scientific and literary works written in many different languages of the world.
The newspaper underlines that there are dozens of manuscripts related to 9th-19th centuries on Islamic history, Islamic science and Sufism written in Arabic, Persian and old Uzbek languages kept at the institute’s fund of manuscripts. One of the oldest copies of Karan which is related to 9th century and written in Kufi is also kept in this institute. Also wonderful copies of Karan rewritten in various centuries with known calligraphy signature “Naskh” is guarded in here.
Institute of oriental studies over a many years period along with its foreign colleagues is managing tireless and laborious work for world community acquaintance with this treasure of literary monuments, to save and publish these materials, which are bounded with historical heritage of the country.
