ХVth anniversary of the International Tashkent Tourist Fair - 2009
The main objective for the organisers of ХVth annual International Tashkent Tourist Fair «Tourism on the Silk Road» is high-scale promotion of tourist potential of Uzbekistan, expansion and strengthening of cooperation with the foreign tourist companies.
Last year TITF-2009 participants from more than 20 countries – like Spain, Greece, Czech republic, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Cyprus, Ukraine, Egypt, Turkey, Arab Emirates, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Russia, India, Thailand, Italy, France and many other attended that event.
It is widely recognised that tourism industry helps to raise living standards of local population, create additional workplaces, strengthen international relations. Large-scale reforms initiated by President Islam Karimov in order to develop tourist infrastructure of Uzbekistan are now bringing noticeable results. The number of new hotels and leisure facilities have significantly increased. New tourist routes are developed, transport communications are improved, and more and more tourists visit Uzbekistan each year.
Summarizing the 15th anniversary of Tashkent International Tourist Fair organized by National Company “Uzbekturizm” we can emphasize that it has opened new opportunities for Uzbek tourist industry and strongly promoted Uzbekistan tourism worldwide.
At the end of the Fair organisers chose the best hotel of Uzbekistan in 2009: “The Park Turon” hotel in Tashkent that has started operating just last spring.
